Dedication, perseverance, preparation, and practice always pay off as long as you're using the correct methods for practicing, staying in time and being consistent. I'm not the kind of teacher who gets angry if the student didn't practice the homework or lesson material they were given. Singing lessons should always be fun and positive. A student should come out of a voice lesson with new knowledge that they can then go and apply during their practice at home. I am a firm believer that most of the learning is done outside the lesson through the student's application of what he/she learned during the lesson.
