Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. My method is to build a solid repertoire list in whatever style of music the student prefers, and then work to a clear understanding of the characteristics necessary to sing in that style. I love having conversation with students to get to know them and find ways the music can relate to them. It also helps me make my teaching more relatable to them. From there I teach finger numbers, frets and how to properly play notes. I then like to give my student the option of picking a song of their choice, and work with them on the different notes. Pushing my students to achieve their fullest potential without burning them out is a quality for which I alway strive. I try to make my lessons fun, but also transformative. With regard to technique, I take a mechanist strategy. We work on each part of the vocal mechanism till it performs optimally and then we work on coordinating the parts so they work cohesively like a fine tuned machine.
