 Music is a very physical thing as well as a very abstract thing.  In my lessons, there will be kennistetic learning through movement as well as teaching through sensation. Using tools like Solfege it helps create muscle memory and tuning. Piano students will learn a wealth of theory knowledge, correct posture and fingering patterns. I will also encourage singing in my piano lessons to reaffirm the student's aural skills. The Alexander Technique is also something that my students will explore in our lessons. Read More

Music has held a major position in my life since I was very young. I began composing music before I was in school. I began taking piano lessons when I was four years old. I studied voice and was trained by professional choir director Bill Graham for several years. I played trumpet in middle school and was first chair. I toured nationally with the NC boys choir. I initiate from the very beginning utilizing Orff, Kodaly and Suzuki methods, as well as some movement activities for my very young students (Pre-K and Kindergarten).Then, I implement some form of musical notation based around sight singing, as a way of laying a good foundation to build upon. I graduated from RI College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Arts and Sciences focusing on Voice Performance.
