During my time at Lee University, I took private voice lessons, for the full eight semesters. I received classical training from two instructors- Mr. and Mrs. Frost. I have taken multiple classes which have trained me to teach vocal technique, including diction and vocal pedagogy. I do give every student the same basic foundation, but after the foundation is set, the continued direction is entirely up to the student [parent]. In previous years, I've had students who wanted to be the next Beyonce, some who need better technique, and some who just wanted to build upon what they already had. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music ! Therefore its important that each student progress at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for each student. Acknowledging accomplishments help fuel a students desire to progress. As stated above, my teaching style is very straight forward. It is important that each student feels comfortable moving at their own pace. I will push each student in their lessons to become better musicians and singers. I believe in body awareness, so dress comfortably. Each lesson will consist of vocal warm-ups and technique work during the first half of the lesson. I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2023, I graduated from The University of Utah with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Saxophone Performance.
