I think it is important to keep the oral tradition of teaching alive so most of the content during lessons will be learnt by ear, though supplemental physical materials will be used. Learning primarily by ear will help build student's listening skills which will be useful down the road when rehearsing with others or learning new tunes quickly. My teaching experience has been recent, having taught at Capital City Lighthouse Charter School for a year, teaching music to elementary students, and then for two months at Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School, also teaching music to elementary students.
