I have been teaching private voice since 1991.  Along with teaching privately out of my home, over the years I have served on faculty as an adjunct voice professor at the college and university level, and have taught private voice in school districts for their junior high and high school choirs.  My own children study with me and are performing regularly in musical theater productions and choirs.  I love helping singers discover their beautiful, God-given singing voice and watching it blossom as they consistently practice and apply the techniques. I just graduated with my Associates of Arts in Music from Lone Star Community College but have had a lot of experience with experienced voice teachers who have actually performed all over the world. With these songs we work on acting, interpretation, confidence and ease of singing. For my students who are more advanced and who's voices have begun to change, I work on technique and ease of vocal production. Singing should be easy and effortless, but it takes a lot of training and reflection to do it. I focus on classical vocal technique. I apply the same method of picking a song (something in Italian) and having the student pick a song. Read More

I love to see my students reach musical maturity. Therefore, even, a beginner will sound musical after just a few lessons. I always remind them to push forward to higher levels. I always advise them that practise is the key and the more they practice the faster they advance. My teaching experiences have been positive, fun, and I've built good relationships with my students. My favorite part about teaching is seeing singers gain confidence in their singing ability and hearing their voices grow. I belive that any learning experience should be fun above all things. I learn a lot from my students, and I encourage them to take risks and opportunities to make them into better musicians. One of the most important things for me is putting my students out there and exposing them to new opportunities that will further enhance their singing and musical ability. Read More
