Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For young students, I start them in beginner books while singing fun songs that motivate them. For older students I pick method books more specific to their age, learning style, and progress while still focusing on key points of interest for the student. My goal as a Strings Instructor is to have my students be exposed to all the wonderful music that is out there in the world and to develop an appreciation for it. I first began teachng bass guitar in my early twenties. Later in life I worked in both Japan and Thailand, where I studied with master drum teachers and also top piano and violin instructors. After returning to the United States, I entered a program to become a certified guitar instructor, and am the ONLY instructor in my area which has earned these certifications which are specific to several different points of teaching guitar. For students who are serious about learning I believe a goal-oriented approach is the best, having a certain level or certain piece to try to reach by a specific time. Accomplishing this goal and seeing the results from working through the steps needed to learn a piece is very rewarding. This leads to new goals and the motivation to learn and accomplish even more.
