After I graduated, I worked as a violin and viola instructor at my school for a few months before moving to the United States. For children who want to play violin and piano, I start with the suzuki method and try to find some music that they will identify with, like disney music or the soundtrack to frozen. For children who want to play guitar, I start by teaching them the essentials in person and giving them notes to practice from (Names of strings and chords, strumming patterns and music reading). I have been teaching as a side-gig and hobby for almost as long as I've been playing! It started with friends in the neighborhood approaching me for advice on how to get started playing guitar. In my years in the Baltimore/DC area, I took private students for extra income outside of my dayjob. A singer/songwriter from New York, I graduated from Vassar College in 2020 with a degree in music, and moved to New Orleans to pursue a career in music education.
