I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I am a classical violinist teaching in Henderson and Boulder City. In 2008, I received my bachelor's in violin performance from the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, and in 2010, I received my master's in violin performance from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Before moving to Nevada, I performed with various professional orchestras in Colorado and Wyoming, including the Fort Collins Symphony and the Cheyenne Symphony. I believe that a strong foundation is essential for steady progress and confident performance. A comprehensive approach is my preference. Therefore, when I teach piano, I prefer Faber and Faber Piano Adventures paired with A Dozen a Day for added technique. Since many students in this school district are in band or orchestra, I usually use Essential Elements for Strings, Brass, and Woodwinds. I spend a reasonable amount of time preparing my students for our recitals and many of them join in the group songs, which have included "What a Wonderful World", "Happy", and currently "The Theme From Midnight Cowboy". As a violin teacher my goal is to see how much each of my students has progressed from the beginning. I have to approach individually to each of them according to their characters, temperament, abilities to learn in order to choose the program for them. I always inspire my students to progress in the world of music, encourage them to learn and practice more.
