Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Once I have identified students’ individualities, I acknowledge their strengths and focus my teaching on their weaknesses. For some, this may mean reevaluation of their posture and technique, as well as their consequent effects on tone production, shifting, intonation, and ease of playing. Many of the individual actions that make up technique can be broken down into several elements. As a teacher, I always like to get to know my students so I can adapt my teaching to them. I believe that each student is different and progresses at his or her own pace. For each lesson, I like to set realistic goals and I will always encourage my students to communicate any questions they might have. I have been teaching as a side-gig and hobby for almost as long as I've been playing! It started with friends in the neighborhood approaching me for advice on how to get started playing guitar. In my years in the Baltimore/DC area, I took private students for extra income outside of my dayjob. I'm a freelance musician with over six years of teaching experience. A singer/songwriter from New York, I graduated from Vassar College in 2020 with a degree in music, and moved to New Orleans to pursue a career in music education.
