I started teaching violin and guitar lessons in high school and was fortunate enough to have had students throughout college on a much wider array of instruments. Lately, since Ive begun teaching from my home studio in Leicester, NC, Ive also been able to hone my skills as a performer in the diverse music scene that flourishes in these mountains. Because of this my teaching has grown to embrace and celebrate the improvisational and communal aspects of folk music as well as the rigorous, methodical approach to technique and theory that I learned as a classically trained violinist. I'm a young teacher who loves working with students and instilling my passion of music in them. I have been involved in music since the age of 5, and received my Bachelors of Music Education degree from Western Carolina University in 2018. Through my experiences there, I was able to perform across the state of North Carolina, as well as tours in South Carolina, Florida, and take part in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2014. I graduated from UNC Asheville in 2012 with a degree in Violin Performance, where I developed a special passion for chamber music. I currently perform with the Charlotte Civic Orchestra, where I have sat in as Concertmaster occasionally. Music is my biggest passion and something I love sharing with my students. I first began taking music lessons at the age of nine and quickly took to piano. In the third grade, I began playing violin for orchestras in New Orleans, Louisiana and later had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the New Orleans Creative Center for the Arts.
