When starting with a young beginner student, I typically start with the beginning Suzuki Method books or Essential Elements books. I will also work on school repertoire if applicable. Once they have advanced past the level of the Suzuki books, I will begin to introduce solo works appropriate for their level and desire. When teaching adults of varying abilities, my methods are much more tailored to their wants in terms of style of music, difficulty of the pieces and the speed at which they would like to learn. The biggest challenge in the beginning is learning about you as a student and how you learn. My teaching experience started in Music Collage,where teaching of school age students was part of curriculum .After graduation from Kiev Conservatory I taught individual violin and viola lessons at Kiev Music School #10 for Gifted Children. Shortly after immigrating to the United States I joined the teaching staff of the Notre Dame School of Music,where I served as a violin teacher for 5 years. When in 2005 the school was closed,I decided to continue teaching and created my private studio, where I have been teaching students of all ages and levels to play violin,viola and piano. Read More
