I started playing violin at the age of 4, and started teaching at 17. In 2003, I started playing viola, and in 2005, I started learning cello. In 2010, I graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Music degree with electives in Psychology. For violin I usually use Suzuki Method and will introduce etudes like Wohlfahrt or Kreutzer. I also have fun with Christmas music, pop and fiddle. If they are young children aged 4-6, I will use the "I Can Read Music" by Joanne Martin. For guitar I use a variety of different classical method and etude books. Being in the studio and creating songs had me pick up the piano, ukulele, and bass guitar which I then took on as instruments I teach. I have taught orchestral strings for over 20 years now, and still continue to play professionally myself. I am a fully-certified music educator of over 20 years: I have taught both middle school band & choir to at-risk youth for 3 years, as well as elementary music at a private Christian academy for an additional 3 years. With the saxophone as my principal instrument of 35 years now, I also play many other instruments that I teach, including: Piano, Violin, Drums, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, and Trombone.
