I've been playing violin for 14 years and guitar for 9 years.
I started teaching part-time 8 years ago when I was a Junior in high school. I continued teaching throughout my undergraduate at a local music studio in El Paso. I have taught children as young as 5, as well as seniors as old as 95.
I believe that if I show my students how to practice, and provide them with musical exercises, they can use those tools to improve their playing. I also believe that students learn the quickest when they are having fun and enjoying their instrument.
Every student is required to maintain a practice journal. Throughout our lessons, I will arrange a song that interests my students at a level that is playable, as well as break the song apart and create musical exercises.
