Music has been one of my passions since I was a little girl! I took up piano at age 8, violin at 13, and drums at 15. I've been known to belt out a tune here and there, too! There is nothing better than having an afternoon to lose yourself to creating and playing music. In high school, I was Concert Master of the Philharmonic Orchestra. My teaching style is more hands on approach, I have a lot of opportunities for my students to perform. I believe that actually playing the instrument will make them better players and performers. Even when a student sign up for private lessons, I have opportunities for them to perform in groups. I think that students learn better when they have the chance to perform in a group. I believe in making each lesson personal and fun. I pay close attention to how each student learns best. I start with the basics, building solid technique and gradually introducing more challenging pieces. I love incorporating short theory lessons as my students advance, and with my younger students, I play theory games so they can remember music being made fun! While I use traditional method books, such as Suzuki, I also incorporate pieces my students want to learn. (Example: Disney songs). Read More
