Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I have had plenty of experience teaching both privately and in a classroom setting. I began teaching private lessons on the piano and violin in high school, where I mainly had elementary school beginners. In college, I continued to teach private lessons and also had plenty of opportunities to work with students of all different ages and skill levels in a variety of settings. Depending on the student's playing desires, I introduce a wide variety of solo pieces and can help shape effective performance skills. I graduated from UNC-SA through both their highschool and collegiate programs. After earning my violin performance degree I continued to travel around the United States and Japan, teaching violin everywhere i went. I believe that learning an instrument must be taught from all three approaches: tactile, aural, and visual. I incorporate all three of these into each lesson so the student can walk away feeling like she has gotten closer to her instrument! For young students, I follow a Suzuki approach where a parent or guardian plays a vital role in practicing and musical development.
