My name is Hank, and I recently graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. My primary instrument is the piano, but I also play all string instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar) as well as the trombone. Working within the Suzuki method, I start each student out with working on posture, technique, and the fundamentals of the violin before moving on to reading/playing. It is crucial to develop good technique/posture before moving on to reading! Once this is established, it is pretty smooth sailing from there. For students who are children, I have a vareity of teaching style opportunities including the Suzuki Method, Essential Elements, Janice Rhoda's Complete Techniques, and other teaching methods. All of my students recieve education in music theory, rhythm, aural skills (voice/ear lessons), performance techniques, sight reading, and of course intrument technique.
