I use Suziki Violin Method, Bastian for piano. I have also been developing my own method, and it's dependant in the students agenda. I encourage the building of reperatore early on. I have also used Liytle Einstein piano method and varies products produced by Hal Leonard. I find the students goals are very formative to the approach I choose to take. Working within the Suzuki method, I start each student out with working on posture, technique, and the fundamentals of the violin before moving on to reading/playing. It is crucial to develop good technique/posture before moving on to reading! Once this is established, it is pretty smooth sailing from there.
