I first started tutoring younger students in violin when I was in high school, but after graduating from college I took on an instruction position at a local music school as Strings Instructor. There, I began teaching much younger students using mutli-sensory techniques to keep my students engaged and most importantly, having fun! You must spend time and practice in order to see improvements. Developing a weekly practice chart is something I like to implement in my lessons. Using positive reinforcement and rewards such as stickers, or sometimes candy can be very helpful to some. I try to find out what inspires my students and I do not try to mask who I am. In the third grade, I began playing violin for orchestras in New Orleans, Louisiana and later had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the New Orleans Creative Center for the Arts.
