Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Hailing from Austin, Texas, Adrian J. is a rising Junior Viola performance major at the Eastman School of Music Studying under Professor George Taylor. Adrian began studying viola in his freshman year of highschool at McCallum Fine Arts Academy under Martha Carapetyan; he later went on to study at the Interlochen Arts Academy in his senior year under the teaching of Renee Skerik. I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with all age students and sharing my love of music. I received a Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Music from the Hoseo University in Korea. In addition, I achieved a certificate from the Amadeus Piano Class. The Amadeus Piano Class was a program designed to focus on childrenxe2x80x99s growth and advancement in music. My methods not only consist of studying technique but also the groundwork of rhythm and a variety of styles for a more personalized study path for each and every student. This may consist of jazz play for rhythm and improvisation, but there is also a place for technique practice and musicianship in classical art pieces. I choose to work step by step. Not to force them or pressure them on anything. As I mentioned above, having this balance between having fun, enyoing and learning how to be responsible and dedicated, is healthy and efficient! Important is to understand that to learn an instrument, you also need to practice, at least 30 min per day and not just only wanting to have the lesson, because the progress will be very minimal and slow, and the learning process will become very boring. I try to cater to the each student's particular needs. For beginning students that are children I typically start with the Essential Elements Strings Book 1 in combination with Suzuki first book. As every student progresses at a different pace, I adjust my teaching curriculum accordingly. Having that in mind, I decide on the next step, usually some solo repertoire, as well as some more etudes and scales.
