As a trumpet player, I am a firm believer in the Arban Complete Comservatory Method, and Clarke Technical Studies. These are the backbone of my fundamentals. I am a fully-certified music educator of 21 years: I have taught both middle school band & choir to at-risk youth for 3 years, as well as elementary music at a private Christian academy for an additional 3 years. My method of teaching is to start students with a strong foundation of buzzing and making characteristic sounds on the horn. This includes buzzing with and without the mouthpiece. Also, my students must be able to read music. Reading music is very important to me, having the students be musically literate with a decent tone will take a student far in their musical career.
