Alexander H. discovered the trumpet when he was very young. Alexander graduated cum-laude with a Bachelor Degree in 1999 at the Music University in The Netherlands, Europe. Alexander also followed lessons with Ack van Rooyen, Claudio Roditi, Bobby Shew, Ruud Breuls and Tom Kirkpatrick. As a trumpet player with 13+ years of experience performing, recording, and learning from many mentors of different backgrounds, I know how difficult and frustrating the trumpet can be. I've always felt that if I could give myself the information that I now know to my beginner self, how much more wonderfully talented I could be today. I am goal oriented in my own career, so I instill the same mindset in my students. At the beginning of each month, we will have a check-in to establish both short-term and long-term goals. The previous month’s goals will be analyzed and our approach going forward will adjust accordingly to continue our trajectory. Musicians need a reason to practice. I try to have as much fun as possible while still maintaining a high expectiation of performance.  I am, by trade and training, a comedian, so jokes and laughter abound. Most of my students might say I'm not as funny as I think I am, but we still have fun! I am, however a stickler for learning the basics of music theory and correct use of vocabulary. I began teaching at the Xavier University Junior School of Music (Louisiana) at the age of 18. My teaching experience now spans 30 years. While most of my teaching, over the years, has been primarily private, I also have several years of classroom teaching experience.
