My approach to teaching is something that I take very serious. I believe in being the best not being number #1. I love music and want to work with musicians who want to get better and take their music endeavors to the next level. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a student grow in confidence and develop a genuine love for music. I then worked for several years with Camp Victory in various capacities, including music. Now I teach private lessons through Encore! Fine Arts Studio as well as Musika and elsewhere. Read More

I taught my first lesson 5 years ago when I was an under graduate. I began teaching guitar to the public part time at age 19 in the music department of my community college. From there, I went on to a university and continued to teach guitar, bass, and voice while I finished up on getting my performance degree. Ironically enough, some of the best lessons I ever learned in music school weren't even how to play, it was how to teach. Read More

I focus on a skills based learning regimen. I often start beginners out without using a book, just learning to make the instrument perform before we add the complexities of music notation to the mix. With more advanced students I work on the small details of mastering the instrument, and translate that into performance. I favor method books that drill the student in those details, and add solo material for variety and to introduce different performance styles. Read More
