Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. For all students, I will do a fair amount of playing be ear and call and response in hopes to avoid an unhealthy association with printed high notes, which is a very common occurrence for trumpet players. My goal in lessons is to teach students how to practice. So in my lessons I show them methods for warm-ups, exercises for workouts to develop range, articulation use, and technical playing. I have each of them learn how to play lyrically and musically.
