My goal in lessons is to teach students how to practice. So in my lessons I show them methods for warm-ups, exercises for workouts to develop range, articulation use, and technical playing. I have each of them learn how to play lyrically and musically. In the background to get them comfortable with playing music well and reading it easily, I work with them on music fundamentals to build a sturdy foundation. Read More

I first began teaching private lessons as a summer job while still a teenager in high school, and I've loved teaching ever since. Encouraging a love of the instrument (and music in general) in younger students is something I'm very passionate about, but I'm always willing to help older students find that love as well. These solo pieces range from simple etudes to full orchestral arrangements for their specific instrument. Read More

I love watching my students grow. I believe in making my students think to get the answers they are looking for. One of the biggest mistakes I notice younger players make is getting into a groove and not listening to what they're playing. Read More

I first began teaching in the summer of 2011 as a volunteer for a music camp and instantly fell in love with teaching. My first lesson teacher engrained in me the importance of sharing knowledge with colleagues and the younger generations. In addition to various private students over the years, I have taught at the Summer Brass Bash, Eastman Community School of Music, Discovering Brass, and North End Music and Performing Arts Center.
