In 2016, I graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. I am an instructor who has taught beginning to high school band instruments for more than 30 years My greatest joy in teaching comes from the students having fun while achieving a high level of performance. My degrees are all in teaching and I am familiar with many different teaching styles. I have helped many students achieve medals and awards in both group and individual performances. The trumpet can be a physically demanding instrument and it is important to practice and perform in a way that will allow the student to achieve the maximum gains with every lesson, while also minimizing any risk of strain or overexertion.
