For beginning students, I focus on the fundamentals of music as such as note values, note reading, dynamic marking, and tempo. It is important that students have a foundation and in understanding how to read music. I will begin with a warm ups to develop ear training and pitch. I am a graduate of Texas Tech University. I began teaching privately in 1985 on the Lubbock ISD Music Tutorial Program. I went into the schools and taught students privately during class hours. I taught Tuba and Baritone Horn. In 1989 I began teaching with Lubbock Parks and Recreation in the community centers. This was more generalized. I taught Band Instruments, Voice, Guitar, Music Theory, Beginner Piano, Beginner Strings. Based on skill level, all lessons are geared toward progressing to a goal that the student sets while setting individual milestones. I choose a method book that is most appropriate for the student.
