My main goal in a lesson is to build the fundamentals and branch out from that basic understanding of the instrument. My teaching style is very regimented in the direction goal-setting and interests. Realistically setting goals is important for students of all abilities. Comparison from one student to the other is detrimental to the student's success as a musician, so I will tailor the progress to fit every need. I will also get the student involved with groups where they can further their learning and abilities. I've been playing trombone professional for almost 20 years, my most recent gigs were playing for Princess Cruises full time, and been teaching for 20 years. My passion for playing isn't what it used to be, so I'm focusing my musical efforts on teaching.
