I then take that and bond with them and teach them in a certain way that matches their thoughts and personalities the best. I like to have fun and not be too strict as long as the student is doing their work, but if they are not staying on track the fun is replaced with more focus on concepts to be sure they are learning what is needed. We learn to speak through trial and error having no wrong words and music should be taught in a similar fashion, where there are no wrong notes.
