Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I taught my first lesson 5 years ago when I was an under graduate. I began teaching guitar to the public part time at age 19 in the music department of my community college. From there, I went on to a university and continued to teach guitar, bass, and voice while I finished up on getting my performance degree. I believe in individualized learning. So each student will receive their own plan for their progression. Some materials I recommend for students are the rubank book for beginner. It is very important for students to grasp the fundamentals. For intermediate students, we would progress on a track and focus on what they had for goals. For advanced students we could use anything from method books to cds to ear training and transposition to bring out the best in the learner. Read More

I love seeing progression! During the first lesson or two, I like to see what all the student knows and what they are currently capable of. From there I can see where we need to start from and work our way forward. I don't like overloading the student with too much information at once, so I focus only on a few concepts at a time and work on it until they fully understand. Read More

I focus on a skills based learning regimen. I often start beginners out without using a book, just learning to make the instrument perform before we add the complexities of music notation to the mix. With more advanced students I work on the small details of mastering the instrument, and translate that into performance. I favor method books that drill the student in those details, and add solo material for variety and to introduce different performance styles. Read More
