In middle school, I began performing and teaching music during the summers at Vacation Bible School for children ages 3-10. Throughout high school, as a member of a variety of bands, I performed at a wide array of venues around New England. During this time, I ventured into song writing and musical arrangement. A few years back, one of my voice students landed a major role in one of the most successful movie-musicals in recent history. Regardless of the level of musician, basic fundamentals are extremely important to a brass musician. In fundamental studies, we will learn lip slurs, tonguing exercises, efficient breathing, excellent buzzing technique, etc. We will achieve maximum proficiency in basic fundamentals by using method books (according to skill level) , such as Remington, Schlossberg, Arban's, ect., and personally curated exercises designed for the individual. I began teaching privately in my sophomore year of high school. I had always known that I wanted to become a music teacher, but this is the time of my life when I really started discovering my potential in the education community. Students that I have worked with have achieved Superior Ratings in OMEA Solo and Ensemble events, have been part of various honor bands and extra-curricular groups. I am able to teach trombone and euphonium lessons to anyone and any age from those that have just started playing through those looking to just improve their musicianship. I tailor my methodology to the needs of my students, and I am willing to work with them to try and find the best way for them to learn. I am a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music I was lucky enough to be able to do both my master and my bachelor degrees there, as well as getting the chance to study and collaborate with many musicians from the Cleveland Orchestra.
