I am a beleiver that the solid foundation is the key to musical success. This foundation is broken down into 3 sections (mental, emotional and physical). I have not been teaching lessons for long in my career, but since I grew up in Northeast Ohio and went to school at the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory, I know the region well. I participated in the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony and the Akron Youth Symphony, so I am familiar with opportunities that are in the area and know how to prepare students for these types of elite ensembles. I have performed in multiple professional ensembles and as a result specialize in orchestral and wind band studies and the technique someone would need to participate in them. Read More

I began teaching in Mississippi in 2011 to college students at the University of Southern Mississippi. After moving to Cincinnati, I began teaching preschool music. I began developing a preschool curriculum at the University of Cincinnati's Preparatory Program that combined reading, dancing, singing and imagining. After teaching privately for a year, I began my position as Executive Director of the Cincinnati Outreach (COR) Music Project. I grew up in the Cleveland area and learned to play trumpet in my school music program starting in the fifth grade, which is typical of my students. I went on to earn a bachelor of music degree from Baldwin Wallace University in 1978. I've also earned a teaching certificate for music K-12, through Cleveland State University in 1993. I have performed frequently in northeast Ohio and have toured the United States, Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore. Read More
