Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I don't believe there is nothing is better than having a student who has achieved a goal. So it is so important for me that my student progress at a rate that is fun, yet challenging. With a teacher-mom, I believe my teaching experience started as soon as I could wrangle the attention of my little sister or stuffed animals. Officially I did some tutoring and a pre-teacher program in high school, along with some volunteering at after school programs. I also tutored and taught private lessons while in college. In my student teaching semester, I taught P-12 music classes including band and music appreciation. After college I spent ten years with a Christian camping organization where I taught as well. I have had two students make first chair in All-State competition, and many Solo and Ensemble Award winners. I often use structured, proven method books such as Hal Leonards Essential Elements, along with age appropriate warmups, technique builders, and simple ensemble pieces to build confidence and foundational skills. As students progress, I introduce solo and ensemble repertoire that matches their level and prepares them for their first performance opportunities.
