One of the foundations of my teaching philosophy is helping students build healthy, consistent practice habits. Regular, focused practice not only improves skill; it deepens their passion and confidence. I also believe in exposing students to a blend of traditional and contemporary music, giving them opportunities to explore creativity while developing strong technical fundamentals. Whether a students interests lean toward classical repertoire, modern worship, jazz, musical theatre, or band literature, I tailor lessons to keep them engaged, challenged, and excited to learn. When something is too difficult for a student, I break it down into smaller, more understandable pieces, or change tactics to a different subject or piece. I use many resources and try to differentiate activities to keep students engaged and learning. Read More

My goals are always to motivate my students to be the best they can. Read More

Creativity and Improvisation As a jazz musician, I believe every musician should develop their own voice.
