I have many daily exercises and warm ups I've collected from professionals I've studied with or had master's classes with over the years for beginners, intermediates, as well as advanced performers. I love teaching students privately one on one. My youngest student was 4; a Piano student. She was from a Russian family and didn’t speak a word of English. Teaching her was a joint effort between myself and the girl’s mother who did speak English; a very interesting experience. My oldest student was 86; a Guitar student. He had studied previously with another instructor and loved to play. I began teaching private lessons part-time during my undergraduate, and I have worked full-time in education, either as a band director or private lesson teacher, for the past 14 years. As a Bachelor's and Master's student, I honed my musicianship and technique to an incredible degree; as a band director, I learned a great deal about how to connect with and break concepts down for young students. I am a Music Educator with a lot of trumpet playing experience. I have never stopped playing my trumpet. I practice my trumpet as time permits and perform every chance I have. I like to travel and study musical styles and instruments from different countries. I also love the outdoors. I am passionate about instrumental music and want my students to feel the same. I want them to share in the knowledge that music is a special skill they will have all of their life and I hope that they will be enthusiastic about sharing their skills, knowledge and love of music with others.
