Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. My ultimate goal in teaching music students is to develop players who are intrinsically motivated. This is a long-term process which I enjoy guiding. I'm very interested in the psychology of motivation for each individual student, realizing that what "works" with one student may not be effective with another. I enjoy developing a relationship with individual students which is based on more than our involvement in music. There are quite a few method books that I like to use with my students. To start, I like to have students use the Beginner Rubank Method Book (the blue book) and work through this to get the basics down. After this, I like to choose some supplemental solo pieces that aren't in this book to help the students grasp the concepts that they have been working on, outside of what is shown in the book. I have been playing/singing since 1980. My main instrument is Trombone but I have played Euphonium, Tuba, Trumpet, and Choir.
