I've been teaching since about my sophomore year in college, So that puts me at approximately 4 years at this. I have taught private lessons, entire sections and entire ensembles. Ensembles that I have taught have gone on to win many awards, I've even had a few of my private students make it to their district bands. I love being able to send students on their way for the day knowing that they put their best foot forward. Even if they did not come to a lesson prepared, being able to see growth in the small amount of time I'm with them is enough for me. I understand that every student progresses at their own pace, so I work with them and their parents to make sure that realistic goals are set and written down to hold the student, parent, and myself to this growth plan. I enjoy teaching all ages from the very beginning student to the more advanced students and can adapt my teaching methods accordingly. I feel each student learns differently and that we are all individuals with different personalities and learning styles. I enjoy the challenges of creating and implementing various teaching techniques so as to accommodate their individuality and so each student will become successful at mastering their instrument.
