I love to watch my students become better versions of themselves through the medium of music. I never want my students to be satisfied with reaching a destination on their goal charts. I want my students to become so infatuated with the journey, that they will seek to continue to look for new experiences to explore. I create this environment by keeping lessons diverse and dynamic. I make each student compile a list of goals for themselves, 3 big goals, 5 goals the lead to each of the 3 big goals, 10 goals to lead to each of the 5 goals, and finally, daily goals that will help us accomplish the 10 goals. My ultimate goal is to guide a student towards efficient and fulfilling practicing. Many students give up simply because they don't know how to practice, but I hope to show them how easy it is to enjoy your practicing. Once a student understands and can see the fruits of their labor, it's very easy for them to push themselves. I want to give a student the opportunity to do that, but I can't force them to practice.
