My teaching style includes positive reinforcement, making and achieving small measurable goals that lead to big measurable goals, and teaching and instilling correct daily practice methods. I encourage each student to do their best each day and push through the difficult places. When something is too difficult for a student, I break it down into smaller, more understandable pieces, or change tactics to a different subject or piece. For complete beginners I use the usual method books used in the public schools.  As I get to know the student I tailor the lessons to their skill level and personality to teach the fundamentals.  More intermediate students I look at what they do well and areas they need to work on such as embouchure or breathing technique.  I teach theary and make sure the student learns how to read music.  More advanced students I will teach repertoire and advanced books such as Arban's Mehod book.  I will always make sure the fundamentals are taught regardless of the skill level.
