Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. For students of all ages I focus on fundamentals by using, The Remington and Arbans books, but for beginners Hal Leonard's Essential Elements is a great start. The fundamentals are never mastered, and the Arbans and Remington methods, are time tested and proven methods for improving on Trombone. I also use the Arnold Jacob's method of Song and Wind. I start all beginning brass players in the Tradition of Excellence method (Kjos Music) as well as individually designed drills and warm-ups. Intermediate students progress to the Rubank Intermediate Method as well as the beginning of the Arbans Method and grade 1 -3 solos. Depending on the individual, advanced students move on to grades 4-6 solos and method books that are specific to their instrument.
