I've kept a consistent basis teaching children and performing master classes at local school like North Side High School in Columbus Georgia. My teaching career continues in schools from Powder Springs to Chattanooga. I had the pleasure of growing up with a Music Educator father who pushed me to stay consistent in the persuit of my goals. Before I sit down to teach a student for their first lesson, I try and plan on what they aspire to learn either through a classical or jazz path and move to get into the details of everything. I am interested in helping others experience the joy of making music. I began playing trumpet at age 11 and went on to play and teach professionally. I reached much success in high school when I was awarded the first chair in the Alabama All-State Band. I then went on to study to be both a performer and educator in college. I started teaching in 2009 in Mississippi. I taught 6th grade band (beginner), 7th grade band, and high school. I taught in Mississippi for 5 years and just recently moved to Tennessee. While teaching, I've given private lessons to some of my students after school and to some students who did not attend my school. I always encourage doing a recital, entering competitions, and continuing on to college playing their instrument. I love motivating students and challenging them to be the best and nothing less.
