My teaching experiences have come from my time spent playing in a variety of ensembles in the different colleges that I attended. I was often asked to lead groups in rehearsal and this was where my teaching experiences first began. It started with my colleges Big Band and then with a Saxophone Quartet. I have done five contracts with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines playing saxophone, clarinet and flute. This gig took me around South America, up and down the East and West Coasts of the USA and around South East Asia. Having grown up a military brat with my father in the Army, I am no stranger to travel as I grew up in Germany and had opportunities to travel around Europe. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more.
