I graduated from Messiah College in 2013 with a Bachelor of the Arts, and I received my Master's of Music Education from Boston University in 2019. I've been playing a variety of instruments since I first taught myself a few tunes on the piano at the age of 8. I settled on clarinet as my primary in 2004 and have picked up saxophone, flute, and guitar since then. Watching my students develop and grow as musicians is one of the greatest joys I have in life.  I use positive encouragments while also challenging students to continually improve.  Music making is not a race, so I allow students to develop naturally and at their own pace.  I try to inspire, encourage, and motivate through leading by example. As an educator I aim to introduce my students to skills that may be applied to life outside the practice room. I teach them to communicate, build confidence, and most importantly, develop patience. In 2013 I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a master's degree in saxophone performance. Prior to this, in 2011, I graduated from the University of Calgary with a bachelor's degree in the same field.
