I am a graduate of Texas Tech University. I began teaching privately in 1985 on the Lubbock ISD Music Tutorial Program. I went into the schools and taught students privately during class hours. I taught Tuba and Baritone Horn. In 1989 I began teaching with Lubbock Parks and Recreation in the community centers. This was more generalized. I taught Band Instruments, Voice, Guitar, Music Theory, Beginner Piano, Beginner Strings. I find the best route with private lessons is start with student see where they are in the process and move forward with a pace that best suited them considering certain factors. Those factors include age, skill level, dexterity, body characteristics, and amount of time already spent with instrument. I like to have student have a lesson notebook and journal so that progress can be tracked more easily. My performance and teaching experience date back to when I was in the 6th grade when I joined band class in middle school. I developed a love for music and performing early on, with a particular passion for practicing my craft. I practiced more than anyone I knew and my achievements showed for it.
