I find the best route with private lessons is start with student see where they are in the process and move forward with a pace that best suited them considering certain factors. Those factors include age, skill level, dexterity, body characteristics, and amount of time already spent with instrument. I like to have student have a lesson notebook and journal so that progress can be tracked more easily. I also tailor my lessons around not just understanding music concepts and techniques but also how to break them. Read More
