For adults, I would continue using these books but at a higher level with supplemental material on the side, which may include solo repertoire appropriate for them and Hanon's Virtuoso Pianist exercises (a few, not all). I have been teaching on and off since 2010 and now teach almost exclusively from my home studio in Bloomington, IN. I've had the experience of teaching everyone from 4 year olds to advanced adult students and implemented various teaching methods for the many different minds learning styles. As a teacher, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student develop a passion for music. If my students do not leave every lesson feeling inspired, encouraged, and wanting to practice and play music, then I am not doing my job.
