I have held four master classes for five different high schools in the past. I have been judging piano and voice for 2 years now and enjoy every moment of getting the work with people. I have also choreographed show choirs for the last three years of my professional life. I look forward to working with anyone and everyone. I will begin a student with the basics of reading music.  Once the student can read music well enough, I will ask what piece they like and want to play.  Based on their skill level, I will gauge whether or not the piece is within the skill level of the student. I am originally from Los Angeles, California and after completing my bachelors in San Fransico I moved to Wichita to earn two  master's degrees from WSU. I am a composer and pianist who has had their music played by many musiciains ranging from student to professional. For my methods, it depends on the age of the student and what their ability level is. For a young student, typically children, I would have to cover the fundamentals of music while applying it to piano or flute to help them learn the notes, clefs, time signatures, key signatures, etc. For my lesson plans, it changes from student to student as each student is different and has different needs they need to focus on to better their musical experience.
