Q. How long should I take lessons to become a good singer? A. The decision is always up to the student. Some people see progress with continuous coaching for an indefinite period of time (especially students who aren’t as advanced as others and are trying to learn the craft and art of singing), and other students who are more experienced like to sign up in order to work on problem areas and then stop when they feel satisfied with their results. My teaching experience started in 2009. Since then I have consistently taught students ranging from 3 years old to wise adults over 80 years. I generally teach in my home studio because I find students benefit much more than being at their home. I make exceptions for those with busy schedules (however I highly recommend having lessons outside your home). Encouraging a personal lesson and education is one of my focuses as it tends to help the student progress and maintain a passion for the instrument and music. Read More

Concept teaching is the most effective for advancing the musicians development. Taking it bit by bit will allow for laying foundational bricks that will be an anchor for concept building. Read More

Always help my students achieve their goals, always give them music they like and we both can decide it is good for the student's development. The personal development of a student is a priority of mine Love to see my students achieve their goals. Love to imprint a loving and caring approach to music in my students. Always try to have my students sing what they love, when they do so, the put their 110% into it, instead of having to do it because they are told so, and it reflects in their practice time as well. My methods vary according to the students interests and development. But I also have a guideline of references. For the beginners, I like to use Faber Faber, Boris Berlin's Four Stars, and some Alfred's piano methods. As we go to intermediate, I focus mostly on repertoire, sight reading, harmonization and, if the student likes, some improvisation. The books vary according to the student. For advanced players, the focus is in the repertoire, so probably we will be using performance editions for the repertoire, with preference for the Urtext (original text) ones. Read More
