I come from a family of musicians- I was encouraged to play piano as soon as I could sit up. I had formal private piano lessons for 12 years, played in the school orchestra and picked up guitar and drums in local bands. I continued to study music at Mizzou while I performed in restaurants, bars, wineries, and private parties. I work on a lesson to lesson basis, building upon the previous lesson, gradually adding new and exciting things into the mix, and finally throwing it all together and seeing what needs to be improved upon. I usually begin with some basic theory and then show various techniques from popular works and how this can be applied to original compositions.
