Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I graduated from McNally Smith College of Music magna cum laude in 2011 with a bachelors in vocal performance. I played everywhere from Duluth. Minnesota to Lima, Peru: sharing the stage with artists as diverse as Andres Prado and Judi Donaghy. In addition to my McNally Smith Degree, I received master classes from Bobby McFerrin and the New York Voices. I teach with a very casual approach. It's not a science or math class. ( I guess it actually is in all regards ). Different student have different needs. I believe in finding out a students wants. Jack Schabert is a Twin Cities based musician, composer, and educator. He performs professionally around the metro with various jazz groups, and is an Instructor of Percussion, Piano, Drum Set, and Jazz Studies at various music schools in the area. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. For the beginner, I am open to method books, however, one can't rest on the guidance they provide. For note reading, nuance of sound, rhythm and timing, method books are good. Yet, technique is so very important and cannot come simply from a method book.
