Maybe a student demonstrates an uncanny ability to articulate dynamics on the instrument, but they struggle to hit the right notes every time. For my voice students, I typically focus on their genre of music and teaching their goal in singing. I use a variety of methods, custom-fit for each student individually. I teach Classical and church piano, along with sightreading, ear training, performance techniques, music theory, and other techniques specially designed to give my students the most well-rounded learning experience possible. I tend to prefer Piano Adventures for younger students and teens, and incorporate use of the corresponding app whenever possible.
