Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

My teaching style feels relaxed but I work hard to keep students in their least restrictive environment. We dont want the student to be too challenged or bored. For this reason I am flexible with the content we work on and the order in which we complete different parts of the lesson. I give a lot of choice to students, maybe one day they want to start with working on some improvisation and want to work on their assigned pieces the 2nd half of the lesson. Read More

I began teaching for Pendragon's Music in 1990, and since had taught for 22 years at a couple of the local music stores. In 2010 I started to gradually open up days at my home studio where I had a much more spacious, clean, noise free environment to teach in with better equipment. I belive music is the universal language. It doesnt matter what type of music you play, the theory is all the same. When you learn a song, the theory should be learned as well. I like to give scales and a practical theory lesson each week, then transcribe a song for the student to learn that relates to the weeks lesson. Then at the end of each week's lesson, we will practice impovisation with the scales, theory and song learned from the week before. Read More

I believe in cultivating music at a high level from the very start emphasizing that one must listen in order to play. I encourage activities that foster focus and attention to detail. The more deeply one listens ,the richer the musical experience.. I tap into the concept of octave theory utilizing solfege as well as linear concepts on single strings..
