For beginning students on guitar i typically start wih Hal Leonards book 1. With about 50 pages in this book, we can go thru at a steady pace and be playing songs from the beginning. Makeing music from the very beginning is the key ! Even the simple one line practice exercizes i back up with a harmonic chordal accompaniment for a satisfying duet. I find the most rewarding thing about teaching music is the spark that ignites in each individual student to blossom into a musician. The importance of each student is reflected in individual curriculum designed or each student. I believe in the idea that no student is the same. Starting from my days of undergraduate school, I began to teach as an assistant in the department of music at the state university of New York at Stony Brook for a foundational music course.
