I started out as an academically driven violinist while playing guitar recreationally. For beginners, I will start with teaching basic knowledge about the "Guitar", then teaching some basic playing mechanic for hands to practice and warm up. After that, I will start teaching some basic theory along with playing examples which makes sure that the students will understand what they are playing and know how music works and how to use it. Every student has a different learning style and learns at their own pace. I myself am a tactile kinesthetic learner and tend to teach this way. For example, I enjoy using colored pencils to highlight articulation and dynamics. If a student is younger, I use stickers to help students keep track of where they are in the piece.
