I am proficient with electric, acoustic as well as classical guitars. I have studied fingerstyle and enjoy experimenting with different methods of producing sounds on them. I enjoy using Ableton Live as a performance and writing tool. I also dabble in analog synthesis and enjoy playing keys, bass, drums and singing. When faced with a new student I always ask them what type of music they are into and what are they interested in learning and how that type of music makes them feel. I emphasize the importance of developing good technique and a fundamental understanding of the basic components of music: major and minor scales, arpeggios, chords, modes and chord progressions. I believe that technical facility makes it easier to accomplish musical goals while developing musicianship. I like to tailor my lessons to each student using music that the student brings to me to create lessons and exercises.
